We aim to transform lives and rebuild communities by blending empathy, innovation, and action. Driven by our Christ-centered mission, we’re dedicated to making a real difference, one home at a time, with a heartfelt commitment to creating positive change.

Our Story

Home for me is authenticity. It’s the place where I can simply be.

Founder’s Perspective

It all started in a healthcare economics class, a transformative moment that stirred something deep within me. As we discussed the disparities affecting BIPOC communities, particularly the inequities in health and access to healthcare, I felt an overwhelming sense of urgency and frustration. It was in that classroom, grappling with the harsh realities of a system that limits access for so many, that I recognized how deeply housing affects every aspect of someone’s life.

I had always been passionate about bridging the affordable housing gap, but after leaving the corporate real estate industry the year prior, I believed my path was elsewhere. However, as I pondered the intersection of healthcare, economic stability, and social justice, I realized that housing is foundational—it’s the cornerstone of our lives, influencing everything from healthcare to education and overall well-being. That realization marked the beginning of a journey I never anticipated, setting the stage for what would become the Welcome Home Foundation.

A few months later, a seemingly unrelated trip to San Francisco brought everything into focus. I had no intentions of delving into housing equity during that visit, but upon landing, I was immediately confronted by the city’s stark homelessness crisis. Engaging in conversations about the realities faced by the unhoused community, I saw firsthand the desperate need for not just housing but also comprehensive support and services. Walking the streets and seeing the human faces behind the statistics left a lasting impression. The gravity of the situation stayed with me long after I left the city, awakening a new awareness of the similar struggles faced by people in my own community.

Our thoughts unfold as words. Words inspire action. Action creates the environmental conditions we all experience.

Later, when I was offered a job that seemed perfectly aligned with my skills and aspirations, I found myself at a crossroads. Despite the apparent fit, something felt off, and declining that offer became a pivotal moment of clarity. It confirmed that my purpose lay elsewhere. In the days that followed, I poured my energy into creating what would become the Welcome Home Foundation. I knew I couldn’t work within the existing structures that perpetuated the very issues I wanted to address. I envisioned positive change—expanding the supply of affordable housing and providing comprehensive support services to those in need.

At first, the specific direction of the Welcome Home Foundation wasn’t clear. Through careful research and heartfelt engagement, we discovered our unique niche: bridging the gap between unhoused individuals and property stakeholders, including managers, owners, and landlords. By fostering better communication and breaking down barriers, we aim to create pathways to permanent housing solutions.

I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve accomplished so far and the strides we’ve made in just a few months of operation. It’s exciting to see this vision unfold, and I’m deeply blessed that God has led us to this point. As we continue on this journey, we welcome everyone to be a part of it, offering a heartfelt “Welcome Home” to all.
